Heavy Duty Signage Contact Adhesive Sealant Q978 is a professional grade , solvent based contact adhesive specially designed for the sign and advertising industry. With its high initial tact and flexible rubber resin formula, this transparent paste bonds strongly to vinyl, plastic, acrylic, metal and more. Making it the go-to solution for sign makers, installers, and fabricators.
Features:
- Strong Instant Bond -High tack adhesive designed for fast , permanent contact bonding. Install signs without the need for double-sided tape, and additional sign tapes to hold your sign in place.
- Allow Minor Adjustments - Allows minor adjustments within 20 minutes, making it easy to correct to the desire position.
- Reaching Usable strength after 24 hours and optimal strength after 48 hours.
- Multi-Surface Use - Adheres to vinyl, acrylic, plastic, metal, and non-porous materials.
- Weather Resistant Performance - Withstands temperatures from -4 degree F to 176 degree F (-20 degree C to 80 degree C), ideal for indoor and outdoor applications.

- Bonding acrylic, PVC, metal letters
- Works great with PVC, acrylic, aluminum composite panels, aluminum alloys, and stainless steel. It can also be used for bonding wood, stone, fabric, ceramic, plastic, and glass.
Instruction:
- For small and lightweight letters or signs:
No need to cut the nozzle. Simply apply the adhesive in small dots, then press the item firmly into place. - For larger or heavier letters:
- Cut the nozzle and apply the adhesive in strips, about 1/2 inch from the edge, spaced 6 inches apart.
- Press the letter firmly onto the surface.
- Then, gently pull one end of the letter away at a 30–40° angle, hold for 3–5 seconds, and press it back down.
- Repeat this motion 3–5 times to ensure strong bonding.
- For very large or heavy letters:
- Decrease the spacing between adhesive strips.
- Repeat the pulling and pressing motion more times to enhance adhesion.
Precautions:
- Ensure flat surfaces – Both bonding surfaces must be flat and have enough contact area. Uneven or very narrow surfaces may not hold the adhesive well and could lead to failure.
- Use carefully on clear materials – When applying to clear acrylic, glass, or similar materials, be cautious as the adhesive may leave visible marks.
- Avoid on sensitive materials – This adhesive may cause slight corrosion. Do not use on foam boards, or UV reverse-printed acrylics.
- Test before use – Because advertising materials vary widely and frequently change, always do a compatibility test before full application.
